PocketBear is a New York based production company whose diverse agenda is reflected in the diversity of our artists and leadership.

Our mission: To bring a new wave of artistic endeavors to old and new audiences worldwide, using all technologies to expand the artistic experience.

Recognizing the complexities of individual minds and perceptions, our work blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. In the process, we are working to break down, leap over, stride through the boundaries between old and new media.

Formed in 2019 by Anthony Caruso and Courtney Campbell; we are a company of writers, directors, designers, performers, or…as we prefer it…MAKERS who come together to create work that crosses multiple genres, styles, and mediums. Our work seeks to reduce the divide between thinking and feeling.

Our overall goal is to create a completely different form of entertainment...one that stems from theatre but extends to and encompasses all other visual and performance mediums.

Our work seeks to blur (and perhaps eliminate) existing barriers among all creative media — film, theatre, music, visual arts, immersive work — and the way they are experienced by diverse groups and individuals. We feel that such divisions as they now exist are themselves breaking their forms, rather than enhancing possibilities.

PocketBear looks to revive the thrill of live theatre, by combining that experience with, for instance, viewing a film while attending a museum. We look forward to the day when audiences will be a part of a project’s fabrication, and pieces of what has been collectively fabricated can be purchased by those who appreciate the beauty of props, the taste of the food served, the fabric of the costumes.

Just as theatrical boundaries are now in the process of being broken, we look to positively enhance these breakings and the subsequent rebuildings that will take place.
